LYLO YEAH BOY

Scottish quintet LYLO have broken the mould with their wonky new single 'Yeah Boy'. Stepping away from the classic ethereal soundscapes coined by the likes of Cocteau Twins and Beach House, 'Yeah Boy' is an innovative take on dream pop, which combines elements of psych, jazz and even post-punk. The reverb-heavy guitars are still present, but it's what going on around them that makes 'Yeah Boy' really exciting. Channelling Jah Wobble on the bass with that unmistakable chorus sound, the 80s-inspired groove keeps the track moving as warm synths and expressive saxophone interludes colour the mix. 'Yeah Boy' arrives alongside news of LYLO's second album Post Era, which comes out on the 26th of January via El Rancho Records. The band play London's Shacklewell Arms tonight (23rd November). -HLMX
